I just want to say what a great product and thank you for selling me this wonder lock system. We installed our lock in early July and I was not 100% sure that this could or would work, but as of today Januiary 20, 2010 I could not be happier with my lock. Its working perfectly. Well where do I start… The Product…FANTASTIC. I am currently at my property in Myrtle Beach. Between the feedback I have on my website, the feedback I have received through email and phone, and the feedback written in our guest book at the property – EVERY guest has specifically identified the no-key access, etc. as a GREAT/TERIFFIC amenity.

It is not a necessity…it is a value-added amenity. No check in times. I can rent my unit 500 miles away 5 minutes before check-in because I don’t have to mail keys. The website seems to work well and your folks at ResortLock are very nice.

Without you guys knowing…I have to be your strongest supporter. I network with several other owners and I have probably sold them on your product a dozen or so times over. As I am getting into the rental property management business myself (aside from just renting my unit).

The ResortLock has been the best investment I've made to our condo rental! For the 9 previous years we've had to call the onsite complex managers to issue keys to our new rental guests. They would issues keys in an envelope at the manager's check-in window. It was always a big headache and if I had to leave them a voice mail message, I never really new if they were going to leave the keys for our guests. A few times they forgot and my renters were not happy campers. Now, with ResortLock, all of that has changed! After the renter's check has arrived I send a Final Confirmation email to them with the time-limited electronic keypad unlock code. I've had over 20 rentals using it and it has never failed! I love the convenience, and unsurprisingly, so do my guests, who sometimes number up to 12 people. Now, with the time-limited electronic unlock code, everybody in the group can gain entry, all without keys. I wished I had ResortLock 10 years ago!

We were looking for a product that would provide safety for not only ourselves, but our guests as well. We didn't want to have to worry about keys or lockouts - we live in Washington and our condo is in Maui, and this unit fit all of our needs. We called Resort Locks before purchasing and talked with a representative on more than one occasion and they answered every question we had. We even called from the airport on our trip over when we realized we might be missing a part of the lock. Resort Locks didn't hesitate to resolve our issue. We have never had any problem, they walked us through installation and then helped us learn to use our software. We love it and so do our clients. We just have our clients program the code into their cell phone and they never get locked out. Our staff have a dedicated code, so all is well there too. This is a great product - all vacation rentals should have one.

Without a doubt the best few hundred dollars we've invested into our rental property! Who would have thought such a small piece of hardware could save so much time and stress owners expend worrying about getting keys to and from tenants. I have used a ResortLock RL 4000 lock on the front door of my beach property for a year now, and I am extremely pleased. All of our tenants have found it very easy to use. Not having to deal with a key is a huge convenience both to me and to the tenants; and I don't have to involve a local agent who would naturally want a percentage of the rent revenues. My husband and I own a vacation property at a ski resort in Pennsylvania. Our home is 3+ hours away, so we have been sending keys to renters, property management, and cleaning company. I always have to remember to send keys and get them back from renters. I was also spending a lot of money on postage. I found the ResortLock website on our VRBO calendar page and read up on it, sent the information to my husband, he was skeptical at first with questions such as; how does it work, will it work without internet access, how? Well, I had him call your customer service number and all of his questions were answered and we ordered the lock.

It arrived and we had a locksmith install it. We had a few questions about setting it up on our computer and the lock itself, but your staff was incredibly patient and walked us through the process of creating permanent, property managers, cleaning company, and visitor codes.

I’ve actually used your website to generate my rental codes. The website provides you with an email that can be sent to your rental clients which includes the access dates, times and codes, instructions for the lock, and changing the code to a more personal one.

I love the fact that I can check to see who has accessed our condo and when. Just another level of security at our home away from home.

I want to thank you so very much for simplifying one of my biggest head aches with my rental unit. I had a very simple color coded lock system that worked for one cleaning crew but the second crew couldn't remember to change the color and the third crew couldn't remember to change the code. I found you just in time. Even when I had to fired my last cleaning crew, it wasn't a problem. I didn't have to collect keys or worry about hard feelings.

I can't tell you how much ResortLocks gives me piece of mind. I have been using it for a little over 5 months to manage rentals I own in 2 other countries. Every time I need a new code, either for new renters or for maintenance workers and repairs I simply generate a new code that website helps me deliver with instructions.

Before I had Resort Lock I never really new who was in my rentals and for how long. Everything from ordering the locks to installing them and now managing them was wonderful and the website is very user friendly. Now I have complete control. I would recommend this lock, as I have already done to many of friends: to anyone that has rentals and needs a reliable way of having a means to completely control their properties.

I was very skeptical of this product when I first bought it. I live 2000 miles from my property and have no room for errors. I installed the Resort Lock 2000 using a Phillips head screwdriver. The instructions were clear, organized and easy to follow. The lock itself is well made and has the feel of heavy durable construction. I then began testing the lock using scenarios that I thought were plausible. I used all of the nightmare scenarios I could think of and to my surprise the Resort Lock passed with flying colors! I have made contingent plans in the event that they are needed, but I doubt that I will have to use them. The bottom line is that I now don’t need to worry about a guest making a copy of my key and looking at my online calendar and using my home as their secret getaway. I also have better control of the guest check in and check out time. Customer service was awesome. I called several times during my testing of my Resort 2000 lock and they were very helpful. I will be using this lock on all of my properties because it works!

Our new lock has been wonderful. It has performed flawlessly. It has saved us money since late check-in is no longer a problem and no one needs to administer keys. We also no longer have issues with how many keys to give to renters, lost keys, re-keying or early/late access. It also means guests and ourselves can go to the pool and hot tub without hiding keys.

I just wanted to write to you to tell you that I’m enjoying the new RL 2000 electronic lock that’s installed on the front door of my vacation rental home, The Princess Palace, down in the Walt Disney area of Florida. It’s a much easier proposition than dealing with keys. I still do have a key box mounted adjacent to the front door of my Princess Palace in case of an emergency but that’s just common sense for a vacation rental home owner. I also want to compliment you on your service staff. When I did have a few “bumps in the road” with the lock software Nolan and Paul were right there to help me out quickly with the proper resolution to my problem. We inherited a small two bedroom house in Southern New Jersey earlier this year. My wife and I live in Upstate New York which is five hours away from the house. While contemplating our options for the house we decided to use it as a vacation rental since it is only a few short miles from Cape May, NJ. The next obstacle was how we would get keys to our guests because we would not be able to meet everyone in person. That is when we came across your product online. I can't think of a better lock. I don't even know how we lived without it. There is such a big advantage not to ever need keys that get lost or guests leave with them, not to need to replace the lock when you change housekeepers; also, you can be out of town or on vacation and give a contractor or electrician a temporary code to enter the house and do the work that they need to do. And the lock works so well and it is so reliable. It is also easy to install too. My husband installed all three of them.

As a provider of short term corporate and vacation rentals in Manhattan, I use ResortLock locks for all of my apartments. These locks really come in handy when people are coming in at odd times (ie late night or Sunday/Holiday arrivals) since you don't have to physically be there to let them in, nor do you have to pay someone overtime to wait for them and let them in.

I just started using the Resort Lock this past month. I am impressed at how easy it is to generate codes and inform renters how to generate their own code after they arrive. With no keys to get lost, this should avoid potential headaches in the future.
Initial set up of the lock was quick and easy, as well as programming fixed codes that will work at any time.
Just a tip to new users, it was suggested to me to have a "hide a key" somewhere, just in case the batteries died before I returned. I only visit the property twice a year, so this seems to me to be a good suggestion, although I do not anticipate that there will be an issue.

I bought a Resort Lock for my rental condominium in Destin, FL in October, 2009.

Before I bought Resort-Lock, I had several problems:
1. Getting the key to my prospective tenants so they can access the property (I live outside Destin).
2. Getting the key to service people, like A/C contractors.
3. Having to change out the keys regularly for better security (gets expensive).

When I saw resort lock advertised on VRBO.com, I checked in to it. It had so many more features than the combination locks you can buy in Home Depot, because every tenant gets a new code and the old one just "goes away."

It was more expensive initially than the alternatives, but is simpler, saves on key changes, and most importantly, Resort Lock gives my guests the best security. If you are a rental owner, my advice is to go for it and get Resort Lock!

The Resort Lock has simplified and improved our vacation rental business by allowing us to have more control over who has access into our condo from 2000 miles away. It has allowed us to do our own rentals and not have the additional expense of hiring a rental management company to book guests and hand out keys. Our guests can rest assured they are the only people who have access into the condo while they are staying there. No longer do you need to worry about past guests having a set of keys or the property management company coming in without your permission and knowledge. Last minute bookings are simplified, simply give someone a door code via email or phone. There are no keys to mail out or mail back. We have witnessed the struggle other condo owner guests go through when they lose their keys at the beach (it happens more than you might think) and wait for hours for the rental management company to show up to let them into the condo they rented. With resort lock there are no keys to lose and since guests can create their own easy to remember code number they do not forget their code. If any maintenance issue comes up it is very easy to give someone access to the condo via a phone call. We bought the software along with the lock and enjoy having access to it on our own computer. Because we travel a lot it is great to have access to guest code numbers at our fingertips on our own personal laptop. The lock was easy to install and has worked perfectly. When we have had questions the folks at Resort Lock have been great at getting back to us with answers and keep us informed when there are any upgrades. We love our Resort Lock and simply would not want to do business without it.

I have been renting 3 weekly units on Marthas Vineyard in the Summers for the past twenty years. Getting keys or access to the guests each week was one of the major hassles and weak links in the rental process. Sometimes the guests didn't get the keys as they should. Sometimes they lost a set. I was always concerned about the possible security risk of using the same keys for all the guests. The hotel industry long ago eliminated this security risk by using programmable cards for hotel rooms. Not practical for a small operation. As I live in Boston, I was not on site. I have an off site part time property manager, but guests arrive at all times of day or night. I can't count how many times I had guests waiting patiently (or not) with their bags for the property manager to arrive to deal with the access screw ups that happened.

I installed (myself) 3 Resortlocks this past season (2009) and they worked flawlessly. I did rewrite the operation directions very carefully in my rental confirmation materials so guests easily understood how simple it was to reprogram the locks to their own 4-6 digit code upon arrival (zip codes, last four of their cell phone, street address, etc). Everything worked perfectly and my repeat guests from past seasons LOVED the upgrade to these new locks. They allowed access to all the guests in a party, including the kids, at any time (keys were always previously restricted to only two sets). I was able to issue the codes months in advance when the rentals were confirmed and I was also able to accommodate last minute rentals by easily generating a code for them on the spot from any computer. I programmed permanent codes for my property manager and cleaners which works well. I used a one time code for an insurance inspector that needed to survey the property. The locks worked exactly as I had hoped. On/Off on the dates and times pre-programmed. I always allowed an extra hour or two pre/post checkin/out times to avoid any unintentional lock out.

Based on this first season of operation, these locks are fantastic. They are much more reasonably priced than other similar locks I researched. Best of all for me, I was able to rekey them all to use with my existing master key system with the optional cylinder. I can enthusiastically recommend them. If they continue operating in the future as they have this past season, they will be one of the best upgrades I ever installed.

Don't rely on dumb luck, ResortLock is a well designed, cost effective, easy to manage security solution for your resort property or second home.

My story; I self-manage two Virgin Island condominiums for myself and my Mom from home here in the states. For the past four years I've used an exterior mounted combination key safe. In hindsight the drawbacks and liabilities were endless. The combination was rarely, if ever changed while endless copies of the key could easily be cut for a couple bucks. Most critically,I needed to trust all departing guests to return the key to its proper location where it could be accessed by any incoming guest. Guest safety was always compromised and the chance of a lock-out was ever lurking. As my luck would have it this "system" worked reasonably well and key control (or lack there of)was simply an annoyance until recently.

Two months back our housekeeper reported thatpersons unknown had entered my Mother's condo during the weekend leaving behind some cigarette ashes, a beverage in the refrigerator and an unmade bed. Once again apparently luck was on our side since no one was hurt and nothing was stolen or damaged.

Searching the internet for solutions I stumbled upon other system providers promising adequate solutions. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) these other locks looked reasonably priced on the front end but cost prohibitive in the long run. Some required ongoing monthly fees for access to a code generation sitewhile others required a constant wireless internet communication link at the remote site. Neither of these solutions appealed to me and luck smiled on me once again when I clicked on a link for ResortLock.com Calling the toll-free number I peppered the representative with my laundry list of questions. All were politely and reasonably answered and I soon purchased two locks, one for my Mother the other for myself. They arrived at my home within 3 or 4 days. I opted for the optional software package but it is truly optional unless, like me, you want the ability to access the audit trail feature. The software took about 45 minutes to set up and master and I even did it without the help of my teenagers.

I bench tested both locks for six weeks. The code generating website could not be any simpler to use, you can even direct the site to email your guests their personal codes and instructions. This email also includes instructions on how they can easily customize their own easy to remember 3-5 digit code.

Mom just celebrated her 81st birthday and has always been a technophobe. She uses her condo for a number of months each year and approached this new newfangled contraption with trepidation. I was able to program her permanent code and attached an ibutton fob to her key chain as a back -up. With about 40 seconds of instruction she was a confirmed ResortLock pro. I will feel more confident as she heads down this winter since her usual habit was to leave a key on a high window sill which was easily visible to anyone who just happened to be slightly taller then herself. Talk about your high security area - no one under 5'9" could find the key!

I installed each lock myself in well under an hour using simple hand tools during a visit two weeks ago. My Mom's condo had a guest in residence who instantly appreciated the freedom of not needing to carry a key while jogging or going to the beach. He self programmed his personal code in under a minute. His code is set to expire on New Year's Eve while my daughter and her friends will be using their own personal code the very next day while on Christmas break from college.

I advertise my condo on VRBO and last week I got a last minute reservation. This guest was set to arrive late in the evening during the weekend on just three days notice. This might be a tall order for even a professionally managed unit but my ResortLock provided a code into my clients email box within 5 minutes of my receiving payment. I wasn't even at home using my software; I simply logged in to the ResortLock site and generated a code remotely from a computer at work. This guest has since reported; "Lock has worked fine - put my own code in and it has worked flawlessly. I agree with you - that's a nice little setup. I like not having to mess around with a key."
